Donna graduated from Queens University Belfast in 2014 having successfully completed an undergraduate degree in Geography with Honours, and a Postgraduate degree in Environmental Planning; with distinction. During her time at Queens University Belfast, Donna was presented with the Turley Associates Prize for Best MSc Thesis, and the RTPI Prize for the best MSc student in Environmental Planning. Donna obtained her Chartered Membership (MRTPI) with the Royal Town Planning Institute in May 2017.
Following graduating from University, Donna secured employment with a Private Consultancy in England alongside a team of six, where she gained a variety of experience in relation to Site Appraisals, Policy Monitoring, Planning and Advertisement Applications, Planning Committee, Appeals, Section 106 and 278 applications and Project Management. A large proportion of her role was travelling throughout the UK for site visits and meetings with Local Councils and Clients which has contributed to her love for travel!
Having spent three years in England, Donna relocated back to Northern Ireland to take up a position with Capita Plc as a Senior Planner working for a Public Sector Client as a Case Officer on the Majors Team for a Local Council in England. In this role, Donna gained experience providing Pre Application Advice, determining Planning Applications, presenting at Planning Committee to Ward Members and assisting junior members of staff.
Aside from being a workaholic, Donna enjoys visiting art galleries in a variety of countries, architecture and has a love for Italy and Italian Food and Fashion!
